Update number 1: Harry Brook withdraws from IPL 2025.
Champions trophy 2025 has ended. IPL is about to start. There is a big breaking update regarding a DC ( Delhi capitals) player who withdraws from IPL 2025. This player will be officially banned from IPL for 2 years . There are no rumours, no doubt, this player will be banned for 2 years officially from the IPL governing council.
Which player? Which team does the player belong to? Why does a player ban from IPL?
We know BCCI has bought new rules for IPL 2025. Among them, one of the rules says ” if any overseas players withdraw from IPL after picking up in the mega auction will be banned from IPL for 2 years”
Harry Brook an English cricketer officially confirmed that he will not be available and withdraws himself from IPL 2025. Delhi Capitals bought Harry Brook for INR 6.25 crores in the mega auction. According to the IPL new rules, Harry Brook will be pulled out of IPL for 2 years which includes IPL 2025 and IPL 2026.
Harry Brook will not be playing for the coming two seasons. It’s doubtful and unclear about two seasons or two coming mega auctions. Still it’s a question. He couldn’t be registered for IPL 2026 because of the ban for 2 years. In 2027, there will be a mini auction. Probably, Harry Brook may participate in the IPL 2027 mini auction.
It’s a player’s perspective, Harry Brook may or may not participate in the mini auction 2027 or he may directly participate in the coming mega auction. Anyways he could not participate or play for IPL 2025 and IPL 2026.
Still it’s unknown about how many players will withdraw from IPL 2025. Now players are daring to leave IPL. If they withdraw from one season and they will be banned for two years. This rule created an impact on players perspective towards playing IPL.
Why does Harry Brook withdraw from the IPL? What was the reason?
We have to appreciate the courage of Harry Brook. After knowing that he will be banned for two years, he was ready to withdraw from the IPL.

The reason given by Harry Brook appears so simple. Harry Brook wants to concentrate on the national cricket team. He couldn’t focus on England’s team. There is a lot of pressure and consistent work load on him. England cricket is his main priority. Hence he could not play IPL 2025.
Usually we see England’s cricketers withdrawing from the IPL. They won’t play at all and show their attitude. Compared to Australia, Australian cricketers are much better.
England’s national cricket has already informed BCCI that Harry Brook will not be playing IPL 2025. They may declare Harry Brook as a captain of England in white ball format.
What might be the other reason for Harry Brooks withdrawals from IPL 2025?
Harry Brook might have agitated that he might lose the captaincy of England. His stats in India and against India are not very great. Losing form in IPL, depriving him from playing and benching him might push him towards depression. It will not be good to lose confidence and get back to England. This would have made him to withdraw from IPL.
England has drastically dropped from winning predictions in all the formats from the recent matches. Harry Brook might get the chance of being a captain. It’s his responsibility to elevate England’s cricket here onwards.
It looks like ECB ( England’s Cricket Board) might have restricted him from playing IPL. We have seen Joss Buttler, Ben Stokes, withdrawing from the IPL. English cricketers never played consistently, many players have withdrawn IPL.
Harry Brook officially confirmed that he will not be playing. But the ban is not officially confirmed yet. According to IPL’s new rule, he will be banned. It takes little time to issue official notice.
Update number 2: Mayank Yadav ruled out from IPL 2025. What was the reason?
Mayank Yadav is unavailable to the Lucknow Supergaints (LSG) in the first half of the IPL 2025. He is still recovering from the injury. Hence, at least half of the IPL Mayank remains unavailable to the IPL.
Even in the previous season, he did not play most of the IPL matches, he played only 4-5 matches and got ruled out due to injury. The same process repeated as he could not play half of the IPL 2025. Still it remained a doubt playing the remaining half of IPL matches. Currently he is under the treatment. If he recovers soon, he might get the NCA clearance to play the other half of the IPL.
LSG will be waiting eagerly to recover this player. LSG retained Mayank Yadav for INR 14.5 crores. Such a huge purse value player is now injured and got ruled out from the first half of the IPL. It’s a big bane to the LSG. Let’s hope good for Mayank Yadav to recover soon and play for the other half of the tournament.
