Welcome to the latest Updates. Finally, the wait is over now. RCB management finally announced the new captain of RCB. It’s none other than spin destroyer Rajat Patidar.
It’s not surprising, we all had expectations that Virat Kohli or Rajat Patidar will lead RCB. Even RCB fans will be in doubt. RCB management never does what RCB fans actually want. RCB fans were really scared of what if they bring other players like krunal Pandya, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Phil Salt as a captain. It would be like a big surprise.
All the doubt had gone now, it’s Rajat Patidar, the new captain of RCB. RCB changed Rajat Patidar completely, He came as a replacement player initially, now he is the captain of RCB. Rajat Patidar also developed to an extreme level.
When he played for RCB in the first season, he did not play well . He came through a replacement player in the next season. There he performed well. After that, again he got injured and ruled out in IPL 2024. In IPL 2025 again he played for RCB. Initially not many runs came from his bat, later on his performance level improved.
That is how his career started. He gave a crazy performance in the IPL, domestic cricket and all the cricket tournaments. As a captain of Madhya Pradesh, in the Syed Mustaq Ali trophy, he led the team to the finals. But unfortunately, he could not win the finals.
Whatever, in captaincy wise, or an individual wise, he gave a lot of contribution to the team. In the Mushtaq ali trophy he was a top run getter. As a captain giving such an individual performance is different. He maintained his team well under pressure, one has to appreciate his performance under pressure as a captain.
Always captains are clicking towards their captaincy and they do not give much performance in the match. Recently we have seen Suryakumar Yadav in the T20 series against England. Suryakumar Yadav did not perform well when it comes to individuals. But the captaincy was the ultimate.
What made Rajat Patidar to be selected as a captain of RCB?
Rajat Patidar being a captain, has taken his individual performance to an extreme level in the Syed Mustaq Ali trophy. He is one of the top run getters. And in the last IPL too, he scored 350+ runs. Who scores such in middle orders?! But Rajat Patidar did this. In the initial 6-7 matches he didn’t score at all. Later on he was totally consistent in scoring 50+ runs in every match.
Many people thought that Virat Kohli was going to be captain of RCB. But it didn’t happen. As Virat Kohli already said, he will not be the captain. Virat Kohli followed whatever he said previously. But we expected a lot that Virat Kohli will comeback as a captain. Even AB Devilliers mentioned that it’s good to see Virat as a captain of RCB. Now everything is changed, Rajat Patidar will be leading RCB as a captain. Now Rajat Patidar is looking differently.
If we see Rajat Patidar, he is an introvert, he has shyness. AB Devilliers, Virat Kohli and even RCB fans said that he is more towards shyness. But, these words came before Rajat Patidar led Madhya Pradesh as a captain.
There will be a lot of difference in managing IPL players and managing domestic cricket players. In domestic cricket only a particular state team is involved, it does not involve any foreign players.
If Rajat Patidar wins a trophy or leads the team to playoffs in the first season, it would be a great level. As a new captain, entering the playoffs in the first season is very difficult. We all hope that Rajat Patidar will do this. Not only playoffs, if he wins a trophy that gives more pleasure than anything being an RCBian.
Rajat Patidar is a cool captain, he doesn’t look like an aggressive player. Some people might say, whoever the captain, but the team will be led by Virat Kohli only. Virat will be the actual captain and all messages will be passed from Virat Kohli. S, we all agree with this. A senior player always passes messages to a junior player.
Rajat Patidar is a good and cool captain. That’s a pleasure thing. RCB management also mentioned that they are also looking for a future captain too. They announced a long term captain i.e Rajat Patidar.
Till now RCB was led by 7 captains. Kevin Petersen, Watson, Faf du Plessis, Daniel Vettori, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli led the majority of the matches. We expect Rajat Patidar to lead RCB too many years like Virat Kohli. We all hope great things will happen under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar.
